Client Stories - Maud

"Me and my husband Harold are in our 70’s and getting too old for this kind of stress.

It was 5 years ago when my daughter told me that my 26 year old granddaughter Zoe was addicted to heroin and crack cocaine. It came as a great shock to me, I knew there was something wrong with Zoe as she kept losing jobs, but I couldn’t believe that someone as bright as her would get hooked on drugs.

To start with I used to lend her money to bail her out whenever she asked, but we haven’t got much money and I’ve learned from the family support group that by giving her money in some ways I am funding her drug habit."
